Tracy & Barry’s Ayrshire Wedding

The Reception Venue After ‚  The Reception Venue After ‚  The Wedding Card Post Box ‚  The Layered Cake of Cheese

Yesterday I created a very unique look to the reception venue for Tracy & Barry, who got married at Fisherton Church by Dunure and arrived at their reception in the Maybole Town Hall by ‚  Campervan.

Tracy & Barry hired me to pull together the decorative details on the day combining both their fishing & doggy themes, as well as co-ordinate with all of their suppliers who arrived to set-up for the afternoon and evening celebrations.

Their ‚  reception venue was all about entertaining their guests, which included fun and quirky ideas like a creel made into their wedding card post box, a layered cake made of different cheeses, Connect 4 in the garden and fish shaped ice cubes for the punch.

I’ve included some photos of before and after, so you can see what can be created in the space of ‚  a few hours.

Congratulations to Tracy & Barry, and I wish you a wonderful honeymoon!!

Ayrshire Wedding Planner meets Chamber of Commerce

Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce Logo ‚  Burns Monument Centre Logo ‚  Outside Burns Monument Centre

Last week I was invited to an Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce event, and my objective was two-fold. ‚   Primarily I wanted to use the event to continue my networking with other local business, but secondly the visit took me to a new venue that had recently opened ‚  to the public, the Burns Monument Centre in Kilmarnock.

The Ayrshire Chamber is ‚  a leading organisation representing the Business Community in the whole of Ayrshire. ‚   They provide assistance to businesses by offering an expanding range of business support and business generating services.

The Burns Monument Centre is surrounded by the beautiful setting of Kay Park in Kilmarnock, and is the new centre for registering births, marriages and deaths. ‚   It has state-of-the-art conference facilties to accomodate up to 85 persons, plus it is a great contemporary venue for a wedding service, civil partnership, vow renewal or naming ceremony. ‚   The Centre houses fabulous archive and local history collections, and a well-equiped research room for anyone to pop in.

Ayrshire Wedding Planner thanks Lynn for her Stationery

Lynn Robertson Occasion Stationery

It’s been almost 5 weeks since the Ayr Flower Show, but I’m still thanking my suppliers and one of my most recent contacts in the business ‚  was Lynn of Lynn Robertson Occasion Stationery, who provided me with some of her unique samples for the show. ‚   Lynn is based in Darvel of East Ayrshire and supplies ‚  beautiful printed stationery on ‚  fabulous quality card ‚  for any occasion.

A popular design by Lynn is the postcard size printed invitation (see ‚  sample on left hand side above), as it can be as bright and detailed as you like but comes at a very cost effective price. ‚   Another option that would be suitable for a birthday or ‚  christening, is the printed image of a baby photo (see the sample on the right hand side above).

Lynn is currently developing her website, but you may contact her ‚  on her mobile 07967 318541, to consider how Lynn can create your personalised invitations. ‚   Just let Lynn know that ‚  she has been recommended by Sarah’s Creative Occasions ‚  for you to receive ‚  a 10% discount on your order.

Ayrshire is visited by the Airbus A380

Airbus A380 Visits Prestwick

Not directly related to my business but both my husband and I love aeroplanes, flying and everything associated with aviation, so when we heard this week that the Airbus A380 ‚  was visiting Prestwick, we couldn’t resist taking time out to observe ‚  the amazing sight.

The visit to Ayrshire was part of ‚  maiden appearance in Scotland where it conducted a fly pass by several ‚  sites that each helped in the development and manufacture of this first ever double decker aircraft.

If any of you got a chance to see the gigantic plane (it is the second largest aircraft in the world, the Antanov 224 being the largest) yesterday circle Prestwick, then I hope you enjoyed the special occasion as much as us.

Ayrshire Party Planner celebrates with Balloons

The balloon girl ‚  The Colourful Balloon Butterfly

I met Lisa of Balloon & Party People based in Kilmarnock almost 2 years ago when she was displaying her creative balloons at a wedding fair in Culzean Castle. ‚   ‚  This is the second year that I have used her stunning balloon arrangements on my display for the Ayr Flower Show.

Lisa’s arrangements are always perfect and she makes every effort to compliment the balloons with my desired theme. ‚   This year at the Show the balloons went down ‚  a treat with the ‚  children, as we had a girl made of balloons holding a couple of butterflies that were flying high under the marquee, as well as a fuschia pink and silver Mr & Mrs wedding arrangement.

As always thank you so much Lisa for the colourful display!

Sarah lends a hand for Malcolm Sargent

CLIC Sargent ‚  Volunteers at Malcolm Sargent House ‚  Sarah's not afraid of hard work

Two weeks ago I spent an afternoon at the Malcolm Sargent House in Prestwick doing some gardening in support of the community and this very special local charity for children suffering from Cancer.

I lead a team to re-haul the rear garden of the house which overlooks the sea. ‚   Basically the garden had become overgrown and untidy, so my team’s objective is to turn it into a relaxing outlook for the families.

Day 1 was spent taking out all the weeds, re-shaping the garden beds ‚  and we started digging over areas of the beds too. ‚   Last week I couldn’t join my team, but I left them with instructions to continue digging over the soil and to prune the overgrown shrubs.

I’m back at Malcolm Sargent House this week for an afternoon to finish the digging and to make good the beds, before we plant them up later in the Autumn. ‚   I’ll add a few more photos to my News Blog as we progress with the transformation.

Ayrshire’s Creations with Aardvark Stationery

Aardvark Stationery Samples ‚  Detail of a sample invitation by Aardvark

I met Janine of Aardvark Stationery over a year ago and fell in love with her handcrafted designs, so I just had to use a selection of her samples on my display at the Ayr Flower Show this year.

As I was using my display to focus on parties ‚  than weddings, I chose to use Janine’s hand drawn venue invitations as they could be supplied for any type of special occasion such as a wedding anniversary or reunion where the venue holds special memories.

The samples show the Piersland Hotel, the Brig O’Doon and Burnhouse Manor.

Thank you Janine for supplying me with your wonderful cards
