Tomorrow is the 1st December, and this year I’ve decided to treat you all to my very own countdown to Christmas 2009, with a few ‚ special festive tips and ideas.
I will bring you some unique touches on how for example, to decorate your own home, or create a magical table setting for your guests, so please return to my News Blog throughout the coming ‚ weeks to find out more.
Happy Christmas planning!
Last week I attended our monthly Ayrshire Association of Business Women (AABW) meeting at the Gailes Hotel by Irvine, and our guest speaker was the manager of Chocolatz.
Chocolatz is a business based in Paisley who provide a mouth-watering range of hand-made quality chocolates, which are sourced mainly from Scottish suppliers.
We were treated to the history of chocolate, as well as a few tasters to understand the difference between inexpensive and good quality chocolate, and then there were a few chocolatey bargains on offer for us to purchase.
They provide wedding favours in ‚ cute little boxes, you can hire a chocolate fountain from them and they can also come to your own home and hold a Chocolatz party!
Congratulations to the 2009 ‚ winners of the VOWS awards which were announced last week. ‚ The VOWS Awards are a celebration of wedding companies, large and small, that offer the best levels of service to those planning a wedding in Scotland.
Of the 20 categories, 3 were won by businesses based ‚ in Ayrshire; Corrine Smith Design, ‚ Lochside House Hotel and ‚ Burnhouse Manor Hotel!

A couple of weeks ago I attended the Butterfly Bazaar at the Ayr Racecourse, and I wanted to share with you a few shots of the bridalwear taken by local professional photographer Brian of AirImage.
Every bridal outfit was hand-made by students at Ayr College, and they were amazing, just see for yourself.
Today I was at the Lochgreen House Hotel Wedding Fayre exhibiting a beautiful array of products to provide brides-to-be with unique ideas for their Wedding Day.
For those that stepped outside, you will have noted the crispness in the air, but still the clear blue skies were a fantastic setting to this gorgeous wedding venue.
Particular thanks goes to Jeanne and Amy, of I Do Balloons, for their stunning turquoise and mauve balloon arrangement.
Last Sunday I went along to the Ayr Racecourse along with other members of the AABW, ‚ to support the Butterfly Events latest fundraiser, the Butterfly Bazaar. ‚ I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon which included:
- shopping amongst the variety of craft stalls & purchasing two beautiful spakly necklaces
- sitting down to a wonderful two-course lunch
- watching a stunning catwalk show of items handmade by ‚ Ayr College students
As a thank you to my support to previous Butterfly Events, Sarah’s Creative Occasions flyers were distributed in each of the giftbags that the 500 guests could take home.
And most importantly the event raised ‚ £8,500 for Cancer Research UK, so well done to all.
Thank you Lorna for another entertaining day!
