Prestwick Promenade Centenary Celebrations

Prestwick Promenade Centenary Celebrations

This afternoon I popped along to the Prestwick Promenade Centenary Celebrations to enjoy the ‚  unique nostalgic event of the seaside days in the warmth of ‚  our Ayrshire ‚  sunshine. ‚   There were loads of visitors and it was great to see the town so busy. ‚   The entertainment included:

Sarah’s Creative Occasions at Saints & Sinners

Our evening at Saints & Sinners Race Night

My husband and I were very lucky to be guests of the Princess Royal Events Centre and invited to attend the Saints and Sinners Race Night at the Ayr Racecourse last Friday evening.

We enjoyed a fabulous evening of fine wine and dining, whilst placing a bet or two on a few horses. ‚   The weather was superb and we had a wonderful view from our hospitality box ‚  across the course.

We were also priveleged to be asked to pick the “best dressed horse” for the final race and present a bottle of champagne to the owner of the winning horse from the final race, so we may also be pictured in the next Ayrshire Post. ‚   Here’s a picture taken of myself in the paddock with Lorna Dempsey of Butterfly Events and her guest.

The evening ended with Bad Boys and Broken Heels, not literally, but courtesy of Alexandra Burke, the 2008 X Factor winner!

Saints & Sinners Night at the Ayr Racecourse this Friday

Saints & Sinners at Ayr Racecourse June 2010

This Friday 18th June is the annual Saints & Sinners race night at the Ayr Racecourse. ‚   It’s a great night out, especially for the girls if you are celebrating a birthday or getting married.

Get your ‚  party outifts on to enter the best dressed ladies competition and make the most of the opportunity to see Alexandra Burke perform a 30-minute set.

I’ll be there, so I’ll post a couple of photos at the weekend.

Ruth & Thomas’ say Thankyou to Sarah’s Creative Occasions

Feedback from Ruth & Thomas

Ruth and Thomas, whom I co-ordinated their wedding on 1st May, have sent me a lovely 1950s style thank you card, as well as my standard feedback form.

I quote “Without Sarah all my visions and wedding planning wouldn’t have been realised. ‚   Everything was perfect and just what I asked for – Sarah being there meant I could just relax and enjoy it.”

Thank you Ruth & Thomas, it was my pleasure to be part of your special day.

Blairquhan Castle is on the Market

My Wedding Day at Blairquhan Castle

Dissapointingly, but understandably with the difficulties of maintaining such a large property in the current economic climate, Blairquhan Castle is up for sale with offers over ‚ £4.85m.

The current owners, the Hunter Blairs, have done well to retain the magic of Blairquhan for the last 4 years and their devotion to the Estate is obvious when you visit. ‚   During my last trip to Blairquhan, in May for Ruth and Thomas’ wedding, Sir Patrick and Lady Hunter Blair served fresh sponge and pots of tea to the wedding guests as they arrived for their weekend stay.

It’s such a special place for me, as I too was wed their in 2007, so I just hope the new owners can continue to love the Castle and it’s surroundings, and allow guests to visit the gardens in the Summer and hold their special occasions.

Sarah returns from holiday in Alaska

Sarah cruising up College Fjord in Alaska

I’ve now ‚  returned from a wonderful ‚  trip to ‚  Alaska, where my husband and I spent almost 3 weeks visiting Vancouver in Canada before embarking on a cruise up the inner passage of Alaska followed by a land tour of Inner Alaska.

This holiday was a real treat for us, as our dreams of seeing lots of wildlife in the most amazing scenery came true. ‚   It was unprecedently warm in Alaska (although it was cold outside on the moving ‚  ship, hence the hat, ‚  scarf and gloves), much like everywhere at the moment, but seeing Alaska in the Spring means you get to ‚  view the snow capped mountains and mini iceburgs in the ocean, as well as the year-round calving of the glaciers.

Our wildlife spots included the killer whale, humpback whale, porpoise, shark, bald eagles, black bear, brown bear, moose, ospreys, sea otters, caribou and beaver.

It’s definitely a holiday to remember and I would recommend it for a honeymoon or special occasion, if you need a reason that is!
