Today my own St Meddan’s Church in Troon is celebrating 119th year anniversary of their treasured south elevation stained glass window.
In 2007, the window was nominated by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland as one of 100 treasured places, and it came 4th in the competition!
Although the church was built in 1888, the beautiful stained glass window was added later and ‚ an official ceremony of the new glass took place ‚ on 29th August 1892 (119 years ago ‚ tomorrow).
The window was designed by William Smith, based on the story of ‚ “The healing of Jairus daughter”.
Earlier this year a restoration project on the window completed, and today the Sunday service was a special thanksgiving for the newly restored stained glass window.
It was a beautiful and creative order-of-service
