Happy New Year from Sarah’s Creative Occasions, I wish you a prosperous and happy 2013! ‚ It’s one of those strange weather days in Ayrshire, one minute blue skies and sunshine and next minute torrential rain, but whatever your plans today, enjoy!
The end of 2012 is almost upon us and what a chocca year we have had at Sarah’s Creative Occasions. ‚ We started the year with our first international client ‚ with a Golden Wedding Anniversary to be planned from beginning to end, plus later in the year we took on a second international client who will be getting married early in 2013.
A great year for us, which included:
- helping out at 11 weddings
- providing a service to 14 different special occasions
- attending 4 wedding shows to promote our planning services, prop hire and hand-crafted favours
- selling party accessories at 5 craft and gift fayres
- working with 2 new local venues
And on top of this, we moved home and base office for the business, staying within Ayrshire of course. ‚ I couldn’t do all this without the help and support from many, including my husband but also my local suppliers in Ayrshire whom I regard as friends, as giving to others is absolutely key in developing business relationships and the wider network.
So if we say nothing more than a big THANKYOU to all my friends and wishing you all a prosperous 2013!
Here’s a selection of photos from the orders of Christmas favours I made up for Clients over the last couple of months.
I hand-craft each and personalise them with coloured ribbons and embelishments of your choice. ‚ I offer purse boxes, cofanetto chest boxes or larger cube boxes, either filled with a selection of goodies or sweet treats. ‚ Each favour also contains a festive paper hat and trivia card.
Great gifts for guests at the dining table in place of Christmas crackers, or as stocking fillers.
It’s that time of year again, with less than a week to go until the next Ayrshire Hospice Winter Fair, which takes place inside the Ayrshire Suite of the Ayr Racecourse on Saturday 17th November. ‚ Doors open at 10am for all the family, with; Santa’s grotto, musical entertainment, lots and lots of crafts and gift stalls, and a coffee shop for refreshments.
Sarah’s Creative Occasions will be there with a stall selling lots festive treats and dining accessories, including; hand-made Christmas favours, quirky candles, designer place card holders, funky salt n pepper sets including Mr and Mrs Claus!
Pop along for a fun-filled day out with friends and family
I’m back from holiday and have received some wonderful feedback from my Client Debbie, for whom I decorated her wedding reception venue in Prestwick back in July.
Debbie and her husband Jim, had a Canadian theme to their wedding day but wished their venue ‚ at the RAFA Club ‚ to be dressed in purple. ‚ We decorated their tables in purple organza laid over white linen, with a purple double-bubble balloon arrangement standing on a mirror plate as their table centres ‚ and we ‚ sprinkled purple and ivory ‚ silk rose petals along each table.
For the top table we created a swag in purple organza fabric and hung a beautiful white heart decoration with diamantes in the centre. ‚ The table names were ‚ Canadian places and each were printed in purple and embellished with a ‚ couple of ‚ purple silk rose petals to match the tables.
Debbie had made her own table plan and favours, so we carefully placed these out onto the tables and positioned the table plan on an easel we hired out for the day.
Just an example of what I can do, if you just need an extra pair of hands on the morning of your wedding day to dress and perfect your venue. ‚ Debbie says in her feedback “all the extra little touches made the hall look amazing”.
My last post for a couple of weeks, as I am heading off on holiday after a very busy and enjoyable season of weddings, birthday parties and anniversary celebrations. ‚ Should you have an enquiry please just send me an e-mail with your contact details and I’ll be in touch on my return.
Earlier this month I created a set of wedding favours for Gillian and Colin who were married up by Ballachulish. ‚ They had a nautical theme, being married by the sea and also wished for a palma violet purple colouring to match the rest of the wedding scheme.
They chose 3 types of favours:
- Miniature whiskeys for the gents, personalised with each guest’s name, a table trivia card and satin ribon
- Silver yacht place card holders for the ladies, with a guest name card and a piece of table trivia
- Cofanetto chest boxes for the girls, lined with coloured tissue paper, filled with palma violet sweets and a table trivia card and decorated with a yacht embellishment and name tag
- Cofanetto chest boxes for the boys, also lined with tissue paper but filled with chocolate footballs, table trivia and personalised with a name tag and mirrored yacht embellishment
At the end of August I helped out Catriona to arrange an intimate 90th birthday celebration for her mum at her home in Maybole.
I supplied the catering and David did a great job for me in crafting a cold buffet of platters of meats, mixed salads, freshly baked breads and a selection of summer sweets.
Catriona needed extra tables, which I hired to her for the day and I also supplied a case of glass champagne flutes, so they could enjoy some fiz in style.
As a welcome to their home and to decorate their buffet tables, I designed a trio of balloon arrangements in her mum’s favourite colours of light blue, lilac and baby pink.
I’ve attached a photo of the coloured foil balloons personalised with glitter writing and also an extract of the wonderful feedback I received from Catriona, advising she was extremely satisfied with our service and creations, thank you!
